Walker No-Shine Bonding Tape (36 count) is an outstanding extended wear bonding tape with a reduced shine (dull finish) that is hypoallergenic & waterproof. Ideal for attaching thin skin units and lace units with light density as the outline of the tape will not show, nor will it shine. Typically provides a 3 week hold. A perfect choice for attaching lace. 36 pieces per package.Walker No Shine Tape is one of the best and strongest extended wear bonding tape on the market today. Tape is double sided, clear and has one side that has a matte finish for a no shine appearance. The printed side of this tape is applied to the skin, so the no shine side is the back (paper cover is split in the middle) and that side goes on the lace or skin base. Note that this tape is meant for extended wear and is very sticky; be careful when removing from skin bases as they are more fragile than lace bases.
Directions and Recommendations: Remove white backing (side that is split down the middle) and adhere to base of hair system; printed side is applied to skin. Tape can be cut in the middle to manually adjust the contour for deeper recession or curve. These are medical grade tapes and should not cause irritation but always recommend doing a skin test when using any product that is applied to the skin. For sensitive skin and to increase adhesion time on oily skin and in hot, humid weather, first wipe skin with rubbing alcohol, let dry and apply Scalp Protector and let dry before applying tape or adhesive.
Removal: On lace or monofilament bases use Lace Release to release the tape from unit. On skin or polyurethane, apply C-22 Citrus Solvent or Lan-O-Sol between base and scalp to loosen tape (avoid contact with eyes); use solvent to remove adhesive residue from scalp and base, follow with soap and water on skin and shampoo hair system or wig.
*Attachment time varies from one individual to another depending on body chemistry and activity level. Oily skin, humidity and perspiration can interfere with or reduce the hold time and oily skin can prevent the tape from sticking so skin should always be properly prepared before applying adhesive. We recommend using Scalp or Skin Protector, which puts a barrier between the skin and tape/glue and may help to increase hold time as w
ell as protect skin from irritation; individual results vary. Brand new wigs and hair systems should be washed before first use to remove any chemicals the manufacturer applied that may prevent tape and glue from sticking to the base.
